Long Term Futures are seeking an enthusiastic Behaviour Mentor for an alternative provision setting, supporting KS3 and KS4 students who face behavioural, emotional or social difficulties. This role involves working closely with students who cannot access mainstream education, helping them overcome challenges and encouraging their engagement with learning through tailored support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1-to-1 behaviour support to students, helping them manage and improve their behaviour.
- Design and implement personalised behaviour strategies and intervention plans.
- Offer social and emotional support, encouraging positive development and school engagement.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students, guiding them to take responsibility for their learning and behaviour.
- Help students develop essential social and emotional skills.
- Monitor student progress, reviewing and adjusting interventions as necessary.
- Work collaboratively with school staff to design individualised support packages tailored to student needs.
- Create a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes the development of the whole child.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with young people who have challenging behaviours or SEN (special educational needs).
- A resilient individual, able to work with challenging young people.
- Experience in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage positively with students.
- Willingness to support students with complex behavioural needs.
