This role seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to ensure accurate financial reports and VAT (partial exemption) / charity SORP support for well known Charity. The role involves working within the Accounting & Finance department and contributing to the financial health and transparency of the organisation.

The organisation is a large Charity with a focus on providing resources and support to individuals and families affected by Alzheimer's disease. With a high performing and dedicated team ,their commitment spans across the UK, with this particular role being fully remote.
Description
* Responsible for submission of accurate and timely VAT (partial exemption) and corporation tax returns for the society
* Proactively ensure that the Unit4 system and internal processes across the group are compliant with the required tax legislation and remain alert to any future changes
* Compile and communicate appropriate tax guidance and training wherever needed within the group (finance and senior stakeholders in other directorates)
* Proactively manage the relationship with external advisors and HMRC answering requests, seeking advice and communicating any issues and/or solutions on a timely basis
* Assist in the preparation for financial audits, preparation of financial statements and liaise with auditors to provide required support
* Responsible for other statutory compliance reporting as deemed necessary
* Performance and/or review of balance sheet reconciliations as required
* Active member of senior finance team driving forward continuous improvements across the function
Profile
A successful Perm Financial Accountant should have:
* ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
* Proven experience in a financial accounting role within the charity sector.
* Strong knowledge of financial regulations and standards (VAT & Charity SORP). Ideally with some industry experience.
* Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Proficiency in financial software and databases.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* A commitment to the values and mission of a not-for-profit organisation.
Job Offer
