About the role
We are looking for an energetic Environment & Sustainability Manager to lead our Environment & Sustainability Team and make a significant impact in delivering Anchor’s Environmental Sustainability & Net Zero Carbon Strategy.
Working to the Property Sustainability Director, you will lead the development of environmental and sustainability strategy and policy, and take responsibility for driving projects that achieve the aims of Anchor’s sustainability strategy and lead a skilled and dedicated team of sustainability professionals.
You’ll have at least five years’ experience in leading the development, management and reporting across corporate sustainability policies and projects and rely on your excellent programme and project management skills and deep understanding of environmental and sustainability policy in the housing and care sectors.
In this role you’ll help us meet a key business need; focusing on scaling up our retrofit delivery programmes to address fuel poverty, resident wellbeing and deliver net zero carbon homes by 2050. You’ll use your technical, policy and strategic understanding of this agenda to drive a scalable approach to retrofit delivery within Anchor to achieve successful retrofits that improve real energy use in our residents’ homes.
You’ll also make an impact in this role by working to our Sustainability Steering Group, a cross-organisation task force responsible for developing and implementing Sustainability Strategy and ensuring adherence to Anchor’s Sustainable Finance Framework. Through your support to this group, you’ll drive and implement change where it’s needed to address environmental, social and governance activity and address strategic opportunities and risks associated with climate adaptation, so you’ll be great at managing stakeholders and coordinating complex programmes.
Although this role is being advertised as a full-time position, Anchor welcomes applications from people seeking flexible working arrangements and this role is open to applications from people seeking part time arrangements or job shares.
