The post holder will be joining our Performance & Informatics (P&I) department who are well respected and the largest of our corporate services. The P&I portfolio encompasses Business Intelligence & Informatics, Corporate Performance, Information Systems Development, Clinical Coding, Data Quality, Patient Access, Cancer Services and Analytical Development.
P&I work cross functionally to support the Trusts operational delivery of both national and internal targets which ensures the highest standards of patient care are delivered. A robust Performance Management Framework is embedded across UHCW that tracks and evaluates progress and supports both operational and clinical governance frameworks.
New opportunities at a national level are being developed by P&I in areas of health inequality, waiting list management and system working. Most notably working innovatively to develop the ‘Health Equity and the Right to Treatment’ (HEARTT) tool which culminated in being awarded the ‘Innovation and Improvement in Reducing Healthcare Inequalities Award’ at the prestigious Health Service Journal Awards in 2022. P&I have strategic partnerships with IBM and Celonis and have introduced data mining into the organisation.
The Associate Director of Performance and Informatics will provide and support the Director of Performance and Informatics with overall leadership to the Performance and Informatics Portfolio. They will provide support to the Director of Performance and Informatics in being responsible for the development, management and reporting of performance and quality indicators ensuring that they are in line with the strategic vision, objectives and aims of the Trust.
In addition, they will act as deputy lead on performance benchmarking ensuring that appropriate, relevant and comparative data is sourced and reported and act as an expert in the field of performance management supporting Clinical Groups and Corporate Directors proactively.

• Support the Director of Performance and Informatics in the development of an effective Trust Performance Management Framework, taking into account national, regional and local requirements and patient and public experience of service.
• Ensure there is robust performance monitoring of all national, regional and local standards and targets and Key Performance Indicators. To ensure appropriate performance information is readily available for managing the Trust’s agenda and reporting performance to key forums including the Trust Board, Board sub-committees and review meetings with Groups.
• The post holder will use their skills, influence and expertise to promote a culture of performance improvement across the organisation.
• Act as a delegated authority for the review and initial sign off of national returns and performance data prior to Director sign-off.
• Co-ordinate the performance and reporting functions of the Trust, ensuring that all internal and external customers' requirements are satisfied.
• Take overall responsibility for staff development, performance and disciplinary issues for the staff in the Performance and Informatics portfolio.
• Provide expert advice on the Trust performance and informatics matters to the rest of the Performance and Informatics department.
• Liaise with the internal and external auditors to ensure that all procedures are working effectively and that audit points are completed and actioned in a timely way.
• Will be required to make decisions within their own interpretation and understanding of national policies and professional standard
