Job Purpose
You will spend most of your time working on site assisting with the implementation of all commercial aspects of the project. Through working closely with Surveyors and the site delivery team, you will continue to learn and develop your understanding of all aspects of a project through day-to-day involvement
Key Responsibilities
Your role will be to assist with the management of procurement, financial and legal aspects of a construction project, successfully transferring risk from main contract to subcontract and ensuring optimum margin is ascertained and maintained throughout the build.
Over the course of the programme, you will be given more and more responsibilities eventually having responsibility for individuals' sections or packages. Your programme will include:
1. Raising of sub-contracts, payment certificates and collateral warranties.
2. Approving invoices and assisting with interim payment assessment.
3. Data analysis (daily dairies, signing in records, PPE logging).
4. Managing plant and labour budgets against forecasted costs
5. Develop relationships with customers, consultants, and subcontractors to continuously improve the customer experience and support future repeat and negotiated business.
6. Support with product selection, specifications and assist with value engineering exercises.
7. Develop initial project budget and agree detailed cost plan with the Project Surveyor for agreement with the external professional team.
8. Assist in managing all cost control aspects of the project(s), ensuring the use of appropriate cost, reporting systems.
9. Advising clients on procurement routes available.
10. Prepare and monitor Bid Package Tender Schedule
11. Attend meetings with the design team and with works contractors
12. Involvement with assessment of subcontract valuations and payment of supply chain
13. Assist with instructing accounts to invoice clients and pay subcontractors and suppliers
14. Support with project close out financial account and retention releases
15. Assist with preparation of monthly Cost & Value Reconciliation (CVR)
16. Gain a full understanding of contractual conditions and ISG contractual liabilities.
The Graduate Programme
Our two-year programme will consist of rotations covering areas such as pre-construction, winning work, planning, design, technical building services, construction management and commercial management to provide a better understanding of how the business operate together.

18. These rotations will help you to build a wider understanding of the construction industry as well as how your preferred specialism fits into the bigger picture of what we do here.
19. There will be an opportunity to have exposure into additional areas like Health & Safety and sustainability – we want the programme to match your interests, so you have a fantastic foundation from which to build your career moving forward.
20. Throughout the programme, you'll have support from a supervisor and a taught programme of learning – both of which will help you on your journey towards chartership.
21. From the outset, you'll be encouraged to share your ideas and to challenge the norm – if you think there's a better way of doing things, we'll be all ears.
22. In year two of the programme you will be eligible to start RICS chartership with the full support of ISG.
Candidate Profile and entry criteria
You will have a minimum 2:2 degree within a relevant subject and a passion for the Construction Industry with scope to learn and grow throughout the duration of the two -year programme, recognising that this time is used to make you an expert in your field to flourish and progress your career further once promoted off the scheme.
