Percival are excited to be working exclusively with Empower Youth Zone to help them recruit for a new Head of Marketing and Communications to join their vibrant team.
Empower Youth Zone is the umbrella charity that oversees operations of the award-winning HideOut Youth Zone, which has supported over 7,000 children and young people since its opening in 2020, and Salford Youth Zone (SYZ), due to open in Spring 2025. The Youth Zones are purpose-built spaces fizzing with energy and incredible facilities, staffed by skilled and dedicated Youth Workers who truly believe in young people – helping them see what they could achieve, and giving them the skills, confidence and ambition to go for it.
Job Title: Head of Marketing and Communications
Reports to: Director Fundraising and Communications
Responsible For: 2x Marketing Officers and 1x Marketing Executive
Salary: £34,159 - £37,342
Working Pattern: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Location: Onsite, hybrid working between HideOut (M12) and Salford Youth Zone (M6)
This role will lead the strategic marketing and communications across the two Youth Zones. You will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of Empower’s marcomms strategy, working closely with the Director of Fundraising and Communications, and with a key focus on brand awareness and reputation. You will be embedding the brand and identity of SYZ in time for it’s opening in 2025; targeting young people and their families, their existing donor community, prospective supporters, delivery partners, and the wider community. You will also be working as a team to create new content to deliver across all their major channels.
To be successful in this role, you will:
* Be a strong people manager and leader, ready to inspire and lead the vibrant marketing and communications team.
* Have proven experience planning and delivering creative marcomms plans and strategies.
* Have experience developing web content and in website management.
* Have experience working within a set budget and allocating resources.
* Be competent in various marketing and communications tools and platforms such as Mail Chimp, Hootsuite, Adobe, Canva etc.
* Have a keen interest in supporting young people or working in the youth sector.
