WIKA Optical Sensing Ltd, previously known as Oxsensis, was acquired by WIKA in 2023 and brings expertise in optical sensing technology, particularly for pressure and temperature measurement. We are now looking to recruit an additional Test Engineer to join our highly specialized team in Oxford.
Your Activities:
1. Take ownership in the development of testing processes for WIKA Optical Sensing products and support product development test activities, ensuring that developed parts meet specification requirements and all evidential data is stored in a controlled & accessible manner.
2. Utilize software and hardware tools to support testing activities and assist in the development of such tools.
3. Produce test process documentation to ensure effective handover of test processes to the operations department and continual improvement of development testing resources.
4. Check test equipment and WIKA Optical Sensing manufacturing/production tools to ensure they are maintained and kept in calibration.
5. Develop hardware test solutions for manual, semi-automated, and automated tests of WIKA Optical Sensing prototypes and products.
6. Create software (LabView, Python, R) test solutions for semi-automated and automated tests of WIKA Optical Sensing prototypes and products.
7. Ensure test processes align with client requirements, internal requirements, and regulatory requirements.
8. Produce relevant supporting manufacturing documentation (Work Instructions, Travellers, WO routing, etc.).
9. Be proficient in using computer software tools for regular testing of WIKA Optical Sensing products & components, managing software tools in line with WIKA Optical Sensing QMS.
10. Support the development, manufacture, and commissioning of tooling for test rigs for regular and customized testing within WIKA Optical Sensing.
Your Profile:
1. Test Engineer with a background in manufacturing, automation, or industrial engineering.
2. Bachelor’s degree in automation engineering or equivalent education, or a combination of technical work experience and vocational qualifications.
3. LabVIEW proficiency to Core 3 level and beyond (Certified LabVIEW Developer).
4. Strong ability to understand test inputs and outputs.
5. Experience in performing manual and automated test sequences, validating data, and producing test reports.
6. Ability to employ hardware and software tools for test automation.
7. Experience with test hardware/software and ability to configure them.
8. Ability to understand test specifications and convert them into technical requirements for test sequences.
9. Ability to modify and develop software tools, including software development in the LabVIEW environment.
10. Technical understanding of pressurized systems testing, accelerated life testing, qualification testing (regulatory), and vibration testing.
