Description Remarkable people, trusted by clients to design and advance the world Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Piping Engineer to join our Systems Integration team as part of Woods Consulting business unit to support one of their key UK projects. This is a hybrid role that can be based at any of the following UK offices: Aberdeen, Staines, Reading, Glasgow or Northampton with the expectation of travel to site as required. We are looking for both Staff employees and also PSC contractors to support through the high demand periods. Please note applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check. LI-Hybrid The Role The Senior Piping Engineer will apply their technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produce engineering deliverables including solving complex problems. The Senior Piping Engineer will have experience across Oil & Gas systems with natural gas infrastructure project experience being beneficial. The Senior Piping Engineer evaluates, selects, and adapts standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks. Expected: Bachelors (minimum) or Masters (preferred) Degree in any engineering discipline, alternatively, tertiary level education combined with suitable industry experience can be used to demonstrate equivalence. Professional level of knowledge of applicable codes & standards and how they are used in work execution - ASME, ANSI and API Standards. Experience of Pipe Stress Analysis and Piping Design Calculations. Proficient user of relevant software, calculation templates, 3D and 2D Piping Design Packages (PDMS, PDS, AutoCad, Smartplant etc) Knowledge of CDM, PER, PED and WPS/PQR requirements. Ability to discover issues and recommend solutions to technical and commercial issues uncovered during course of performing assignments Desirable: Chartership or relevant professional engineer status accredited by a national or industry engineering institution preferred
