Description of the role and responsibilities As Technical Coordinator, you will be expected to manage design aspects from planning through to completion whilst managing and monitoring site progress. You will be responsible for costs, budgets, design and the consultants involved, liaising with architects and sub-contractors to coordinate technical information throughout the project team. You will work closely and report directly to the Head of Technical Design and will provide good support to the technical department. Your role will be based prominently within Bristol and you will need to have the full UK driving license as there will be travel to various site locations when needed. About you A sound understanding of residential development and design working with a house builder or main design/ engineering consultancy. You will have designed for housing schemes and will be confident in taking the lead within a team. Ideally, my client is looking for someone with a engineering deign back ground or a architectural background but has an understanding of engineering. This person must have good knowledge of building regulations, sections and sustainable homes legislation. Previous experience as a Design Engineer, Arch Technician, Technical Coordinator or similar; Architecture, Construction or Engineering degree or equivalent; Proficient in AutoCAD and ideally you will have experience of design software such as Revit and SketchUp, however this isn't essential; An understanding of the Building Regulations, NHBC/LABC warranty requirements would be of benefit along with a understanding the structural, thermal, acoustic, Fire Engineering principles of construction; Strong management and communication skills; Major developer/leading consultancy background is desirable Good organisation skills with the ability to keep accurate records of detailed information Effective problem-solving skills Achieve key deadlines Full UK driving license What’s on offer?
