About the Role As the SENCO, you will play a vital role in coordinating and supporting the school’s provision for pupils with special educational needs (SEN). This is a fixed-term position, ideal for a dedicated and knowledgeable professional looking to make a positive impact in a nurturing environment. Responsibilities: Develop and implement the school’s SEN strategy and policy. Coordinate SEN provision to ensure pupils receive the support they need to thrive. Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to assess and address individual pupil needs. Provide guidance and training to staff on best practices for supporting children with SEN. Manage Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and liaise with families to foster strong home-school partnerships. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. About You To succeed in this role, you will need: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant SENCO qualifications or experience. Proven experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably within a primary school setting. Strong knowledge of SEN policies, frameworks, and the SEND Code of Practice. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with pupils, families, and staff effectively. A proactive and empathetic approach to meeting the needs of all learners.
