We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a Secondary School in the Redruth area to cover a maternity leave from April 2025. The ideal candidate will possess a strong command of the English language and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves teaching students of various ages and backgrounds, promoting literacy, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. Duties Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and abilities. Teach English language skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback. Create a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and collaboration. Organise extracurricular activities related to English literature and language to enhance learning experiences. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behaviour. Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to curriculum development. Stay updated with the latest educational trends and methodologies in English teaching. Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Strong organisational abilities with attention to detail. Ability to inspire and motivate students while fostering a love for the English language. Proficiency in using technology for educational purposes, including digital resources and online platforms. Patience, empathy, and adaptability in addressing diverse student needs. Previous experience in teaching or tutoring is advantageous but not essential. A relevant teaching qualification or degree in English or Education is preferred.
