Are you ready to take charge of a £30m portfolio spanning 40 suppliers within the dynamic Technology and eCommerce divisions at Next PLC? We’re seeking an experienced procurement professional to manage the end-to-end purchasing lifecycle, delivering impactful strategies to support our growing business.
About the Role
As a Procurement Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships to ensure the best value and performance for Next’s Technology and eCommerce needs.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Supplier Sourcing & Appraisal: Identify and evaluate future suppliers, conduct financial and commercial assessments, and manage site visits.
2. Tender Management: Prepare and manage RFPs, incorporating detailed specifications, contract terms, and performance requirements.
3. Contracts & SLAs: Collaborate with legal teams to create robust contracts, define SLAs, and establish KPIs to drive supplier accountability.
4. Supplier Management: Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, hold operational and strategic reviews, and ensure compliance with best practices.
5. Internal Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between internal teams and suppliers to address issues, manage expectations, and align on service and product specifications.
6. Market Insights & Spend Analysis: Stay informed on market trends and competitor activity, offering innovative solutions to improve procurement strategies.
7. Financial & Operational Reporting: Oversee purchase order accuracy, invoice processing, and budget preparation, ensuring adherence to financial best practices.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in procurement, particularly in IT or technology.
Essential Skills & Experience:
8. Proven knowledge of the procurement lifecycle and IT purchasing.
9. Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen.
10. Excellent negotiation and communication skills at all levels.
11. Ability to work independently with exceptional time management and organisational abilities.
12. Proficiency in Google applications or Microsoft equivalents.
13. A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a can-do attitude.
Desirable Skills:
14. Experience using eSourcing platforms.
15. CIPS qualification (or working towards it).
