Here is an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Transport Planner to join our Cardiff team.
Our national Transportation division currently operates out of Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Bristol, Cardiff, Southampton, Truro & London and they have a wealth of experience to offer support, development opportunities, and expert advice. Working as part of our national division, you will be exposed to a wide variety of project work and practice.
As a Transport Planner, you will be providing transport inputs relating to clients’ development proposals and will work towards solutions which are acceptable to all stakeholders. Working as part of a highly motivated team, you will encounter a diverse range of assignments, which will enhance and develop your skills in:
* Providing planning-stage support for a variety of development schemes
* Preparing technical assessment documents and reports for planning submissions
* Technical assessments of junction performance using industry-standard traffic modelling software
* Drafting Travel Plans and sustainability assessments
* Pedestrian and cycle route design
* General arrangement design work for new junctions and accesses onto the road network
* Accompanying senior staff to project meetings and on-site visits
The attributes we expect you to bring to the role and company:
* Strong written, numerical and verbal communication skills with a client-focussed approach
* Enthusiastic and industrious with a willingness to learn new skills
* Experience in data analysis, interpretation, and presentation, particularly using Excel
* Strong IT skills across a range of software and a ‘can-do’ attitude
* Excellent people skills and the ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently
* Traffic modelling experience and familiarity with Transport Assessments / Statements and Travel Plans. CAD design skills are beneficial but not essential
* Degree qualified in a relevant subject (preferably with an MSc in Transport Planning or other related degrees such as Civil Engineering, Geography, Planning, and Maths)
