Job Summary Quickparts is excited to welcome a Plastics 3D Printing Engineer to our High Wycombe, UK site. In this role, you will support the manufacturing of plastic 3D printed prototypes and products for a diverse range of industries, from film to medical. You will be pivotal in managing the Stereolithography (SLA) process and overseeing customer projects from initial inquiry through to final component delivery, operating across both office and workshop environments. Key Responsibilities SLA Process Management Prepare SLA printing machines, managing resin material and ensuring accurate loading/unloading of build platforms. Perform hands-on post-processing, including support removal and surface finishing of printed parts. Project and Design Coordination Evaluate customer designs for 3D printing suitability and recommend design modifications when necessary. Prepare CAD files by integrating customer designs and designing support structures for 3D printing. Schedule projects and allocate machine time effectively to ensure timely production. Customer and Quality Management Serve as the primary contact for customer inquiries, ensuring clear communication throughout each project. Assist in metrology and inspection tasks, utilizing hand tools, CMM, and laser scanning to guarantee quality standards. Qualifications Essential : Proven ability to work with 3D CAD software. Competence in reading engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances. Strong team collaboration skills and a practical, hands-on approach. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Desirable: Engineering degree or an equivalent qualification. Prior experience with plastics 3D printing technology, preferably SLA (training provided). A minimum of 2 years’ work experience in an engineering or model-making environment. Proficiency in project management tools or ERP systems. Experience in machine maintenance.
