The Central Ticket Office deals with the vast proportion of traffic offences that are committed in Greater Manchester. They play a vital role in keeping the roads of Greater Manchester safe by prosecuting those that commit offences on the roads.
The Central Ticket Office manages the administration of fixed penalties and traffic offence reports. It also handles prosecutions of offenders who fail to comply with the Road Traffic Act and administers offers of driver education.
We are looking for someone to prepare prosecution files and present evidence at court as a key witness in respect of contested cases, ensuring that they are of a high quality and are disclosed to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) within the guidelines provided by the Central Ticket Office (CTO) and National Police Chief Council/Road Safety Support.
Some of the main duties are:
1. To ensure that files are completed on time and to the required standard.
2. Prepare and submit files for court hearings to full file upgrade in accordance with the required standards prescribed in the Manual of Guidance for File Preparation and as requested by Central Ticket Office Management, Court Prosecution Service Advice/Policy, Road Safety Support.
3. Respond to queries from the CPS and Police Led Prosecutions (PLP) regarding prosecution cases. Where required provide a further statement and disclosure of evidence.
This role is based at Hyde Police Station. The role, although busy, will be rewarding for the right applicant.
