Job summary
We have a vacancy for a highly motivated Junior Sister/Charge Nurse who is passionate about providing and developing services that actively respond to the needs of patients presenting with acute medical symptoms.
The Unit is Consultant led and is primarily concerned with rapid assessment and early specialist intervention to enable timely and effective treatment with transfer to the appropriate specialist area, thereby reducing length of stay for patients.
We work closely with our colleagues in the community, social care, voluntary sector and of course within the Acute Trust to provide comprehensive assessment, seamless transfer of care and rapid co-ordinated discharge where and when appropriate.
You should have demonstrable experience in an acute medical setting with proven leadership skills. Experience of working autonomously would be advantageous but we would expect you to take advantage of the training offered to gain competence in this area as you will be fully involved in patient assessment and pathway development. We can offer a comprehensive training package with study leave support.
In the absence of the Senior Nurse, you will be expected to organise the operational management of the unit and be able to evidence your ability to co-ordinate the activities of a multidisciplinary team.
