Your new role
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be part of our growing UK team working on healthcare projects across the UK and internationally. You will focus on technical delivery excellence and developing a strong understanding of client care.
Your key responsibilities include:
1. Leading and managing a team of Mechanical Engineers, collaborating with other disciplines such as structural, electrical, and public health engineers.
2. Enhancing the profile and reputation of Ramboll and our UK Healthcare Team.
3. Developing and overseeing mechanical concepts and design solutions.
4. Performing detailed design work to industry standards and completing calculations using software like Hevacomp, MagiCad, IES, Revit, etc.
5. Inspiring and motivating engineers and technicians on your projects.
6. Representing Ramboll in project meetings with clients and collaborators.
7. Supporting key accounts and building relationships with new clients.
8. Contributing to business development strategies within the UK Healthcare sector.
9. Implementing best practices to deliver sustainable, zero-carbon, innovative, and high-quality services.
10. Managing your projects as an MEP or mechanical engineering project manager, allocating resources, and coordinating tasks.

About you
We support your personal and professional growth from day one. To succeed in this role, you should have:
* Proven experience in mechanical design engineering on UK projects, preferably complex, high-resilience, or healthcare buildings.
* Leadership skills that foster a high-performing, collaborative, and inclusive culture.
* A degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Membership in MCIBSE, MIMechE, or MIHEEM, and familiarity with digital design tools like Revit/BIM 360.
* Excellent project management skills, capable of handling multiple projects of varying complexity.
* An understanding of project risks—both technical and commercial.
* Strong communication skills, able to explain complex concepts clearly to clients and teams.
* Motivational skills to inspire confidence internally and externally across locations.
* Ability to work independently on all technical aspects of the discipline.
