This role involves co-ordinating care and support for women not only experiencing mental health issues, but those who have other complex care needs including substance misuse and learning difficulties. Perinatal Mental Illness affects up to 27% of women during pregnancy and the first year following the birth of a child. If left untreated it can have significant and long lasting effects on women and families.
