Unlocking Language is a leading speech and language therapy provider dedicated to empowering children and young people to communicate with confidence. As we expand our clinic-based services, we are looking for a passionate and creative Music Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team.
About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and HCPC-registered freelance Music Therapist to work with toddlers, children, and young people, including those with special educational needs (SEN). You will play a key role in using music-based interventions to support emotional expression, communication skills, and overall well-being at our clinic in Canary Wharf.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver individual and group music therapy sessions tailored to children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) and/or SEN.
* Work closely with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educators to provide integrated therapy.
* Use music, rhythm, and movement to help children develop social interaction, confidence, and emotional regulation.
* Adapt sessions for children with autism, developmental delays, sensory needs, and other complex conditions.
* Provide support and guidance to families, carers, and school staff on using music as a therapeutic tool.
What We’re Looking For
* HCPC-registered Music Therapist (or eligible for registration).
* Experience working with children and young people, particularly those with SEN.
* Strong understanding of speech and language development and how music therapy can support communication.
* Able to develop services and work autonomously.
* Ability to engage young clients through play-based, interactive, and creative approaches.
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Pay: £25.00-£35.00 per hour
