PLC Programmer / Controls Engineer
Location: Carlisle, Cumbria
Salary: From £45,000+ per year

The team is experienced & passionate about delivering cutting-edge solutions, and take pride in sharing their expertise with both clients and colleagues. Due to their recent growth, we’re looking for an Experienced PLC Programmer to join their dynamic and skilled team.
The Role:
Perfect for a motivated and proactive PLC Programmer to develop, commission, and maintain PLC and HMI software.
An electrical background would be highly beneficial, particularly experience with drives, conveyors, motors, and control panels. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, teamwork, and the ability to build relationships across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Develop, test, and maintain PLC programs
✔ Program and modify control systems using Stepper/Servo drives, Robots, etc.
✔ Create and edit HMI systems
✔ Troubleshoot and resolve issues remotely or on-site
✔ Perform maintenance and modifications at customer sites
✔ Enhance system performance through software and electrical improvements
✔ Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery
Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in PLC programming
Familiarity with Siemens PLC software and Rockwell Automation / Allen Bradley
Electrical background (preferred)
Strong problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
