Blackpool Football Club is an English professional association football club based in the seaside town of Blackpool, Lancashire.
The club was founded in 1887 and has a very storied history, from being a founding member of the Lancashire League in 1889, rising to the Top-Flight of the Football League (the old First Division) in 1930, to winning the FA Cup in 1953 and being promoted to the Premier League in 2010 (becoming the first club to gain promotion from every division of the Football League via the play-off system.)

Job Purpose:
Blackpool Football Club are looking for a reliable, experienced, Maintenance Assistant to work across both our Stadium and Training Ground site. In this vital role, as part of our small Maintenance team, you will contribute to the smooth running of the Stadium. Day to day tasks include caretaking duties, grounds & building maintenance, regular compliance testing, site security and supervision.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a maintenance role, with relevant qualifications, training or experience. Applicants should be flexible and available to work various shift patterns, including evenings and weekends depending upon the fixture schedule of the Club’s First Team.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
* To assist the Stadium Operations Manager & Deputy Stadium Operations Manager with their duties and to support the team in carrying out routine and everyday maintenance.
* To carry out daily / weekly / monthly compliance testing & inspecting, eg. fire alarms, emergency lighting, water hygiene regimes.
* To manage the water hygiene regimes, including outlet flushing, temperature checks, showerheads.
* To carry out the fire safety weekly audibility testing within the Stadium & tenanted areas.
* To operate the in-house computer system and update on completion, collecting email job ticket requests from all departments and taking responsibility to resolve.
* To carry out pro-active works around the Stadium & Hospitality areas - servicing windows and doors, painting, installing shelves, handles and locks.
* To replace / repair lighting around the Stadium & all tenant / office areas.
* To carry out Stadium / Training Ground & Hotel duties which includes stadium seating repairs, replacements and general maintenance & plumbing across the site.
* To perform planned and preventative maintenance work, as directed and required.
* To liaise & work closely with the Stadium Grounds team.
* To liaise with the Hospitality & Events department to ensure the smooth running and satisfactory completion of all functions, conferences and exhibitions held within the Stadium & Hotel.
* To assist in the operation of audio-visual equipment, to assist the smooth running of Hospitality, Events & Match Day operation.
* To maximise energy management by making sure no energy & water are wasted by proactively turning lighting / equipment / taps off when not in use.
* Suggesting initiatives to make additional savings in and around the Stadium, any ROI approach will be seriously considered.
* To monitor & keep all fire escape stairways clean, tidy & free from obstructions.
* Inform Heads of Departments of any Health & Safety issues.
* To be fully familiar with all Health and Safety instructions within the Stadium & tenanted areas.
* To understand, adhere to and ensure the implementation of the Stadium’s Health and Safety, Emergency and Fire Policy & Procedures.
* To attend all training sessions as required, specifically statutory training including manual handling.
* Complete all relevant records, reports, documentation as per company policy.
* To inspect the fire extinguishers, monthly, within the Stadium / tenanted areas.
* Monthly fire door inspections within the Stadium & tenanted areas.
* To ensure the emergency lighting tests / checks are carried out monthly within the Stadium & tenanted areas.
* To inspect & maintain fire escapes within the Stadium & tenanted areas.
* PEAR Checks.
* Additional duties as reasonably requested by the Stadium Operations Manager.

Qualifications
· Industry related qualification ie Electrical, Mechanical, Carpentry or similar.
Experience
· Previous experience within a Maintenance environment.
· Experience in plumbing, painting, decorating, carpentry and general maintenance.
· Experience using hand and electrical tools.
· Experience of working within a team.
· Experience working in large scale stadiums/ buildings.
Knowledge & Skills
· Current working knowledge of general maintenance.
· Strong organisation skills.
· A good understanding of time management.
· Ability to work without close supervision within established timeframes.
· Proficient in paperwork and maintenance logs.
· Basic knowledge of maintenance systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical etc.
· Ability to read manuals and drawings.
· Proficient in use of Microsoft Office systems e.g. Office, Excel, Access and PowerPoint or equivalent system.
Personal Qualities
· A quick learner with the ability to work independently.
· Delivers to the highest of standards, good attention to detail.
· Effective time management and planning skills.
· Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
· Flexible to meet the requirements of the needs of the business – this may include working evenings & weekends, when required.
· Ability to travel between different sites e.g. the Club & Training ground.
