Your expertise will drive the support, design, automation, and optimisation of our AWS ecosystem, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency. You'll proactively solve complex delivery and operational issues, supervise the design and delivery of services and solutions, and contribute / spearhead technical discussions. Additionally, you will act as an escalation point for stakeholders. Success in this role requires deep and experienced working AWS knowledge, problem-solving skills, and an exceptional practical working knowledge of AWS cloud services, solutions, identity, and infrastructure. You'll navigate within the companies Service Frameworks with ease while aligning solutions to the Companies regulatory stance and risk appetites. What you will do: Support and Deliver AWS Services & Security : Build and maintain AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, etc.), implementing security best practices (WAF, Network Firewall, IAM, VPC, data encryption) to ensure compliance and resilience. Design, Deliver and Implement High Availability & Resilience: Develop disaster recovery solutions, resilient architectures, and governance controls, including Security Hub, Audit Manager, and proactive threat detection. Implement, Maintain & Optimise AWS Best Practices & Governance: Enforce compliance through IAM, encryption, Control Tower, Security Hub, and cost-optimisation tools like AWS Cost Explorer and Trusted Advisor to drive efficiency. Develop and Maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate provisioning, alerting, and scaling using CloudFormation and AWS CDK, improving efficiency, consistency, and deployment speed. Oversee Troubleshooting, Performance & Issue Resolution: Identify, assess, and resolve complex incidents and performance bottlenecks while managing monitoring systems like CloudWatch and Synthetic Monitoring. Drive AWS Innovation, Continuous Development & Team Support: Stay aligned with new AWS features, integrating them into roadmap solutions, while mentoring and providing technical guidance to team members. Collaborate & Support Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with development, security, and IT teams to design, deliver, and implement AWS solutions that align with organisational goals and business requirements. Devoted to the FCA principle of Consumer Duty, by ensuring we are driving good customer outcomes across all aspects that have potential to impact our customers. What we're looking for: Extensive AWS Cloud Development & Implementation: Expertise across EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Route 53, and automation/serverless architecture (AWS Lambda, API Gateway). Proven Expertise in a Senior AWS Engineering Role: Demonstrating expertise in designing and optimising cloud infrastructure while driving automation and best practices. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Strong proficiency in CloudFormation (preferred) or AWS CDK for automated, scalable deployments. AWS Cloud Security & Compliance: Expertise in encryption, IAM policies, network security, and transit security, ensuring adherence to financial services regulations (PCI DSS, FCA, GDPR). Database & Data Services: Strong experience with AWS database solutions, including DynamoDB, Aurora, Redshift, and other managed data services. AWS Contact Platform Services: Hands-on experience with AWS Connect and related services such as Lens and Kinect. Coding & Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, YAML), code versioning tools, and developing scalable, efficient automation in production environments. ITSM, ITIL & Service Improvement: Strong understanding of IT service management, ITIL frameworks, and continual service improvement methodologies. Certifications & Communication: AWS certification preferred (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Engineer), with excellent communication skills and a passion for automation and innovation.
