Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
The QA repair operations take place in the general assembly unit of the plant. The QA unit footprint where those activities take place is situated at the end of the main production conveyor. The manufacturing team pass a finished vehicle to the quality team - the vehicle is then processed through a process of inspection and repair by quality personnel - the paint repair technicians are part of that process. At the end of the inspection and repair process, the final finished vehicle is passed from quality to logistics and then on its way to its final customer.
As issues arise, the ability to be able to fix dings/bumps and effect paint repairs in an efficient and timely manner is key within the repair process and we are keen to find and train suitable candidates to support us in that role. You will work in the repair areas and report to the shift supervisor. The role is shift-based eventually, once you have completed your apprenticeship.
