Our client, a reputable charity with a legacy of over 100 years in expert animal care, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join their team on a fixed-term contract, covering a maternity leave. If you are a vet with a passion for charity work, a desire for a varied case load, and a commitment to making a positive impact, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
The hospital is located in South East London with excellent travel links to central London via train and onsite parking is also available.
As a Senior Veterinary Surgeon, you will play a crucial role in delivering veterinary care to a diverse client base in genuine need. Your responsibilities will include overseeing a broad spectrum of medical and surgical cases, leading a clinical team with the support of a Head Nurse, Client Services Manager, and Veterinary Team Leader, and ensuring the effective utilisation of charitable resources.
Working in collaboration with a friendly and supportive team of 6 experienced Vets, 7 Nurses, and Veterinary Care Assistants and Receptionists, you will contribute to maintaining a 24-hour centre across three hospitals. The facility is well-equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound, orthopaedic surgical equipment, on-site blood analysis, piped gases, and endoscopy.
While previous practice and people management experience is advantageous, it is not essential as full training will be provided, accompanied by mentoring from an Area Veterinary Manager. This rare opportunity offers you the chance to join a forward-thinking and 'can do' team where animal welfare is at the core of everything they do.
If you are ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals and be part of a supportive network of experienced colleagues, apply now and become an integral part of this reputable charity's mission.
