HSE Advisor

Responsible for planning, facilitating and reporting on all activities within the HSE remit, whilst closely interacting with all stakeholders and internal teams.
Working closely and supporting the HSE Manager, the HSE Advisor will:
1. Ensure that company HSE policies and procedures are fully implemented and adhered to;
2. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and codes of practice including ISO standards (45001, 14001 and 50001) as applicable;
3. Ensure RAMS are in place, updated for all projects and reviewed at least annually;
4. Investigate and follow-up on all non-compliances, accidents, incidents and near misses using suitable problem-solving tools and techniques;
5. Compile weekly, monthly and annual HSE reports including frequent awareness bulletins;
6. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational conferences, reviewing professional publications, and establishing professional networks.
Key responsibilities:
1. Drive positive change and mature the safety culture;
2. Collaborate with the HSE Manager and Senior Leadership to embed Health, Safety and Environmental strategies across the business;
3. Oversee HSE risk management, regulatory compliance (ISO45001, ISO14001 and ISO50001) and maintain strong relationships with external regulators;
4. Ensure the delivery of HSE improvements that support sustainable program delivery;
5. Support with company-wide general learning and development activities including informative training materials, delivering training and sourcing external training;
6. Conduct internal audits and legal compliance audits to a high standard.
Qualifications / skills required:
1. NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent is essential;
2. Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IOSH) would be desirable;
3. Proven HSE advisory experience in a large, complex organization, ideally with multi-site, manufacturing, or engineering environments;
4. Comfortable in navigating fast-paced, heavily regulated environments;
5. Excellent communicator at all levels of an organisation;
6. Strong stakeholder management, experience implementing HSE management systems across diverse environments, and a collaborative approach to influencing and engaging stakeholders effectively;
7. Proactive and authentic health, safety and environmental professional;
8. Innovative, adaptable problem solver and someone who enjoys a challenge;
9. Able to communicate with confidence and gravitas;
10. Able to engage, gain buy-in from others and build trusted partnerships;
11. Comfortable with working autonomously at times;
12. Approachable, self-motivated and keen to develop.
