Joining us as a Commercial Manager, you'll be accountable for a broad portfolio of branded products, where you'll lead the execution of the customer business plan in order to hit and exceed annual targets. You'll u tilise category and consumer insight to achieve key business targets and also be a ccountable for the planning and delivery of a profitable growth plan with your customer. This is a key role within the wider commercial sales team and will manage key areas for the business within the Birds Eye, Aunt Bessie and Goodfella’s Pizza portfolios.
* Build partnerships with stakeholders to develop, manage & execute Joint Business Plans managing to achieve both your own and the customer’s Sales, Profit & Share targets. You will have full account P&L ownership.
* Use of bespoke category and shopper insight alongside trade spend and online trading levers to drive the above plans.
* Work with internal & external customers to secure best in class visibility of our Brands. Develop and deliver bespoke execution plans that best support key Birds Eye, Goodfellas and Aunt Bessie’s ‘Big Bets’.
* Ownership of the promotional strategy – utilising best practise in bringing together all 3 brands across 10 categories to deliver the best offer for the Customer, Consumer and Birds Eye
* Monitoring portfolio effectiveness via the company tool kit / reporting system and feed learnings into the category, RGM, customer marketing and customer finance teams
* Manage customer product mix and align with strategic brand and category guidelines
* Own the day to day commercial relationship with the Buyers in your respective categories - this will also include some exposure to Senior Buying managers, and Category Directors.
* Ensure commercial returns are delivered and maximum levels of control are achieved
Essential
* Graduate calibre with significant experience of account management with the top 4 grocery retailers.
* Sales Skills – Strong customer relationship management skills, possessing the confidence to sell commercial propositions in line with company and customer needs.
* A category and customer first mind-set.
* A high degree of analytical skills. P&L Analysis and course correction. Someone who can interpret data and use to a commercial advantage. Is able to scenario plan against internal budgets and understands key cost drivers. Will see reality and take the appropriate decision / action decisively
* Resilience; excellent negotiation skills in order to achieve mutually acceptable outcomes in often very demanding circumstances.
* Experience of formulating and reviewing detailed business plans.
* A highly organised individual with good planning skills and the ability to manage projects
* Grocery experience with some experience of both branded and own label business.
