CDDFT Podiatry Department are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Podiatrist to join our diverse team, which covers 6 localities. The candidate should have at least 2 years post-graduate experience and evidence of working in Podiatry Biomechanics/MSK. The successful candidate will also be required to carry out high risk/tissue viability domiciliary visits and clinics. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to complete work-based competencies specific to the job and will be assigned a dedicated mentor. The position will be based in our 4 chair clinic at Chester-le-Street. Main Duties of the Job
1. Take a clinical specialist role across the team: Assessment/Biomechanics and/or Diabetes/Tissue Viability.
2. Provide leadership within the Team and act as a senior clinician, leading by example.
3. Provide specialist podiatry advice both within and externally to the Trust.
4. Assess and treat patients within the team caseload of patients with specialised care needs which includes adults and paediatrics, self-referrals from patients and referrals from other practitioners and disciplines.
5. Participate in the training of other staff and students.
6. Participate in service transformation activity with a view to continuous service improvement and value for money.

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community-based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Evidence of post-graduate specialist podiatric training or equivalent experience of specialist podiatric conditions.
* BSc / BSc (Hons) or Professional Diploma in Podiatric Medicine.
* Evidence of substantial CPD.
* Post-graduate training.
Statutory Registration
* HCPC.
Special Requirements
* Ability to work under pressure.
Experience
* At least 2 years post-graduate experience with evidence of working within Biomechanics/MSK services and/or Diabetes/Tissue Viability.
Special Skills & Knowledge
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal, including persuasive and reassurance skills which are essential in the effective communication of complex and sensitive information to patients and in communication with other healthcare professionals.
* Good organisational skills.
