Job Title: Mechanical Estimator Location: Kent Salary: £70K - £75K The Role: Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for mechanical services projects across commercial, education, and hospitality sectors. Analyse drawings, specifications, and project documentation to prepare accurate and competitive pricing. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and ensure accuracy of costs. Attend site visits and client meetings to assess project requirements and site-specific considerations. Collaborate closely with project managers and design teams to ensure pricing reflects scope and client expectations. Assist with value engineering options and alternative solutions to meet budgetary constraints. Manage tender enquiries and RFIs (Request for Information) to ensure timely responses. Contribute to the handover process from pre-construction to project delivery. Keep up to date with industry pricing trends, materials, and innovations. Ensure all estimates comply with company standards and client requirements. The Company: A growing building services contractor delivering mechanical, air conditioning, and ventilation projects across commercial sectors. Projects include office fit-outs (Cat A & B), as well as mechanical installations in the education and hospitality sectors. Based in Kent and operates throughout London. The Ideal Candidate: Proven experience working as a mechanical estimator within the building services/M&E sector. Strong understanding of mechanical systems including HVAC, ductwork, and plumbing installations. Familiar with tendering processes, procurement practices, and estimating software. Excellent analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detail. Confident communicator, both written and verbal, with experience in client-facing roles. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
