The Role
Thanks to our innovative products and great team – we now have an opportunity for a New Product Development Chemist to join our professional Research & Development team based in Rochdale.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To develop new products as well as maintenance of profitable new products to meet business requirements to agreed deadlines and timescales.
2. Working closely with other technicians, chemists and project leaders on the formulation and research of new and existing products.
3. Application of own scientific knowledge in problem solving situations.
4. Provide updates of project progress, including regular communication with project leaders.
5. Provides technical advice, guidance & support maintaining laboratory processes, equipment and resolution of customer issues.
6. Meets required Production, Quality, EHS & Regulatory policies when formulating new products and maintaining existing products.
7. Safety commitment.
Qualifications / Experience:
1. Degree in Chemistry or related discipline.
2. Practical working knowledge in a relevant formulating laboratory environment, preferably Energy Curable Flexo inks.
3. Able to take ownership and responsibility of their work and think for themselves while being receptive to feedback to continuously improve the quality of the development.
4. Ability to devise test methods, analyse results and disseminate them in a professional and effective way.
5. Strong team player.
6. Ambitious and willing to learn.
7. Hold a strong can-do attitude.
8. Proficient in the use of common productivity software applications.
