Job Title: Teaching Assistant Location: Ripon, North Yorkshire Salary: £83 – £105 per day Start Date: Immediate Start Working Pattern: 4 days per week; Monday to Thursday Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a Key Stage 1 classroom? GSL Education is seeking a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to support across Year 1 and Year 2 in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Ripon. This role involves classroom support as well as providing 1:1 support for children with special educational needs (SEN), helping them to thrive both academically and socially. Teaching Assistant Role Responsibilities: Provide in-class support across Year 1 and Year 2, assisting with phonics, literacy, numeracy, and other core subjects. Offer one-to-one support for children with special educational needs, tailoring learning activities to their individual needs. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies. Foster a nurturing and engaging learning environment where all children feel valued and supported. Assist with classroom preparation, behaviour management, and student engagement. Teaching Assistant Requirements: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or working with children in a primary school setting. Experience supporting children with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties (desirable but not essential). A caring, patient, and proactive approach to helping young learners succeed. Strong communication and teamwork skills. A valid DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one). Why Join GSL Education?
