An opportunity has arisen within NHS Highland Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) based at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, for a Band 5 CAMHS Community Nurse to join our friendly and expanding team. We seek an enthusiastic and motivated professional committed to working with young people and their families. Applications are welcomed from both experienced and newly qualified nurses.
You should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to demonstrate your ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
The post will be situated within the wider CAMHS nursing service. We have expanded our nursing team significantly over the past 2 years and invested heavily in our support structures. We consider ourselves a compassionate, caring, and innovative team that supports professionals to reach their potential.
The work involves direct supportive contact with children and young people with severe and complex mental health issues, along with their families and carers, within The Phoenix Centre, the community, and Raigmore Hospital. As a non-case holder, the post holder will support the implementation of interventions aligned with best practices, focusing on building therapeutic relationships to promote engagement and positive outcomes. This role offers specialist training and exposure for professionals seeking to develop essential CAMHS nursing skills across various clinical specialties, making it suitable for those without prior CAMHS experience but with an interest in this field.
The post requires close collaboration with the CAMHS MDT to deliver a comprehensive, therapeutic service. The role may involve working outside normal hours based on service needs; currently, CAMHS operates Monday to Friday, 9-5. A driving license is essential.
