Employer Pension contribution matched up to 6% Potential for ongoing opportunities Opportunity to buy branded products from our staff shop Things we'd love to tell you about our Taw Valley site Arla Taw Valley Creamery have been producing their award winning cheeses since 1974 Situated in the beautiful countryside around the town of North Tawton, the creamery produce Cheddar, Red Leicester and Double Gloucester cheeses using traditional cheesemaking techniques Some of the most recognisable names of products we produce are Tickler and B.O.B About the job Working a 4 on, 4 off 12 hour shift pattern (days only) a hand stacker/hygiene operative will have the responsibility for the following duties: Manual stacking of 25kg bags on pallets ready for dispatch (when running the 25kg bagging machine) Prepare & dispatch pallets of demineralized 'dry blend' permeate powder to the expected quality standards, ensuring department KPIs are met As a Hygiene Operator, work across all of the production areas and be responsible for ensuring that all machines and the actual building fabric meet strict standards of hygiene Perform scheduled daily cleaning tasks, but also use own initiative to raise and complete additional cleaning tasks to strive for continuous improvement of standards Record & Report Process Deviations to the Team Leader, especially relating to hygiene standards Make suggestions on how hygiene standards can be improved by engineering out common deviations Work with engineering and other members of the team to reduce lost time due to breakdowns Maintain a safe working environment by raising near misses, risk observations, environmental observations and behavioural safety observations Contribute to completion of risk assessments and standard operating procedures. Complete mandatory and job required training courses so that skills are kept up to date. What you'll need in order to be successful in the role Ambition & drive We need people who can demonstrate good levels of numeracy and literacy and have a sound technical understanding Previous experience within the dairy industry or chilled food manufacturing would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided You must be able to work on your own initiative, have strong team working skills and a flexible attitude to work Things We'd Love To Tell You About Arla We are a farmer- owned cooperative.
