MuleSoft Developer – Remote with very occasional travel to Belfast

My client is a global IT consultancy. They are on hunt for a Mulesoft Developer to join a central government client of theirs. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and deploying integration solutions that connect multiple enterprise systems, applications, and data sources. Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and implement MuleSoft APIs and integrations to support digital transformation initiatives.
* Collaborate with business and technology teams to understand integration requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
* Develop API-led connectivity solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
* Create and maintain RAML and OpenAPI specifications for RESTful APIs.
* Ensure best practices in API security, governance, and performance optimization.
* Perform unit testing and integration testing to validate API functionality and reliability.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in integration services.
* Work with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to automate API deployments.
* Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior developers and stakeholders.
* Stay updated on MuleSoft product updates, API management trends, and industry best practices.
Key Skills & Experience Required
* 2+ years of experience in MuleSoft development (Mule 4 preferred).
* Strong expertise in API development, microservices architecture, and integration patterns.
* Experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including API Manager, Runtime Manager, and Anypoint Studio.
* Ideally proficiency in DataWeave, RAML, JSON, XML, SOAP, and RESTful services.
* Hands-on experience with MuleSoft connectors, transformations, and message processors.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and on-prem hybrid integrations.
* Knowledge of event-driven architecture, messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS), and ETL processes.
* Experience with OAuth, JWT, SAML, and API security best practices.
* Strong understanding of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.).
* Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 (Mule 4) or higher.
* Experience in enterprise integration projects within industries like banking, healthcare, retail, or telecom.
* Exposure to Salesforce, ServiceNow, or other enterprise applications.
* Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and containerization for API deployments.
