A fantastic opportunity has become available to become the Senior Equipment and Stock Management (ESM) Assistant in the Dental and OMFS team. As the ESM assistant, you would be supervising the Store Clerks and working alongside our Nursing team in the Dental Hospital and across our Dental Outreach network.
You would have duties and responsibilities as described within the attached job description and would also be a key member within the wider Dental and OMFS team, working to maintain and coordinate our clinical equipment and stock levels for use across all of our dental services including our Dental GA Suite and Dental Outreach sites.

Main duties of the job
The role of Senior Equipment and Stock Management (ESM) Assistant is to provide vital support to all the various services in the Dental network which operates across multiple sites including the Royal London Dental Hospital, Whipps Cross Hospital, Kenworthy Road Outreach Clinic, Sir Ludwig Guttman Outreach Clinic, and Barkantine Outreach Clinic, supporting the procurement requirements to ensure the smooth running of clinics. The post holder will be required to share their expert knowledge and administrative skills where and when required.
The Senior Equipment and Stock Management (ESM) Assistant is responsible for:
* Liaising with the dental network across multiple sites, stores clerk team, and clinical staff regarding the ordering of stock and non-stock supplies for the Dental and OMFS teams when the need arises and before stock diminishes.
* Liaising with the Dental Nurses, Operations Administrator, and Dental and OMFS Team regarding any specialty equipment and products they may need, which is not exclusive to a single site, but across the entire dental network as listed above.
* Implementing best procurement practices to ensure timely order, delivery, and receipting of goods items to meet the demands of the clinical services.
* Liaising with Dental Clinical Technologist in the Dental Clinical Engineering Department regarding maintenance/servicing of all medical and surgical equipment.
* Assisting in the maintenance of an equipment register for all medical and surgical equipment within the dental network across multiple sites.
* Supporting the Dental Store Clerks, to ensure the team are maintaining a clear working area and helping to unpack and store away consumables.
* Collaborating with the Operations Administrator and Dental Stores Clerks to ensure that the stores located in Royal London Dental Hospital are manned during core clinical hours of 09.00 to 17:30 and there is suitable cover arrangement in place.
* To ensure that the Dental Stores Team work diligently and are always mindful of their environment, patients, and colleagues.

Qualifications
* Level 3 nationally recognised qualification (A-Level, Higher education diploma, International Baccalaureate diploma) or relevant knowledge, training, and experience.
* Procurement/Inventory Management qualification or equivalent experience.
Experience
* Equivalent experience working in administrative roles.
* Previous experience of working in NHS/public sector administrative/procurement role.
* Experience of procurement practices/activities in the public sector, relating to finance such as AP (accounts payable) and procurement.
* Working in a team environment and understanding of shared team performance outputs.
* Safe transfer of medical and surgical equipment using different methods.
* Team working within the Perioperative environment.
* Solo working and organising own workload and the team workload to provide a safe service.
* Previous financial/budgetary experience.
* Working in acute NHS hospitals.
* Previous experience using equipment, procurement, or inventory management software.
* Use of Oracle procurement software.
Knowledge
* Previous knowledge and understanding of Infection Control practices within a clinical setting.
