This Edinburgh-based insurance broker, with a reputation for delivering bespoke insurance programmes to clients, both large and small, is looking for a commercial insurance broker to join their team of technical insurance broking professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Keeping the customer at the centre of the commercial insurance broking process.
2. Building and maintaining strong relationships.
3. Understanding the insurance needs of customers and putting into effect the right level of protection to meet those needs.
4. Growing new and existing client and insurer relationships.
5. Working closely with the Board and Account Executives to provide advice.
6. Acting as a mentor and reference point for technical assistance.
7. Working within agreed compliance and regulation guidelines.
8. Handling new and existing commercial insurance risks.
9. Dealing with quotations, renewals, MTA’s, policy issues, etc.
10. Assisting in driving a high-performing culture.
11. Understanding a client or prospect’s business, situations, opportunities, and key challenges.
12. Managing senior relationships and negotiating complex placements with the insurance market.
Experience:
1. Experience within the commercial insurance broking marketplace.
2. Knowledge of most cross classes of commercial insurance risk.
3. Ability to identify appropriate placing markets.
4. Experience of pricing and designing programmes.
5. Ability to grow new and existing client and insurer relationships.
6. Working closely with the Board and Account Executives to provide advice.
7. Preferably CII qualified or working towards the CII qualification.
8. A good knowledge of the insurance market in order to address client and technical issues.
9. Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
10. Excellent technical skills.
11. Good presentation abilities.
12. Acting as a mentor and reference point for technical assistance.
13. Working within agreed compliance and regulation guidelines.
14. Assisting in driving a high-performing culture.
15. Ability to understand a client or prospect’s business, situations, opportunities, and key challenges.
