Becketwell Live is a cutting-edge events complex with a capacity of up to 3,500 people. It is designed to host a variety of events, including large corporate conferences, exhibitions, trade shows, major touring concerts, stand-up comedy, family performances, and sporting events. About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Technician to lead the technical delivery of events at our arena. In this hands-on role, you will manage and support the technical team, ensuring all event setups and changeovers run smoothly. You will also provide expert technical support during events, troubleshoot issues, and assist with routine and reactive maintenance. This position requires a strong technical background, leadership experience, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while ensuring the highest standards of technical execution.

Your Responsibilities
1. Oversee the technical delivery of events, including managing load-ins, load-outs, and operating sound, lighting, and temporary power systems.
2. Collaborate with event organizers, promoters, and tour managers to ensure smooth event execution.
3. Supervise casual and local crew, ensuring the safe use of venue grids and gantries.
4. Act as Duty Technician on a rota basis and serve as a key-holder for the venue.
5. Develop and deliver staff training, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
6. Conduct risk assessments and promote a positive health and safety culture within the venue.
7. Provide cross-departmental support and assist in emergency situations when needed.
We are looking for someone with:
8. Experience of working in an events-based environment, ideally within a similar multi-purpose space with a mixed programme.
9. Passionate about service delivery standards and keen to lead by example.
10. A self-motivated individual with the ability to work without supervision and take responsibility for problem solving, fault-finding and repairs as required.
11. A high level of awareness of Health and Safety issues regarding production and stage production.
12. Experience in the management of statutory requirements.
13. Experience of maintaining technical equipment to a high standard, both proactively and reactively.
14. Knowledge and understanding of Portable appliance testing.
Desirable:
15. Experience in the use of AutoCAD to interpret and manipulate technical drawings.
16. Experience of DANTE audio networks
17. Experience of event lighting including DMX, Art-Net and sACN.
18. Recent counterbalance Forklift Truck training.
19. Knowledge of BS7909 in relation to electrical systems.
20. Rigging awareness course or be willing to undertake training
Due to the nature of the role, there will be a requirement to work weekends, evenings and public holidays.
