Job Summary
To act as the first point of contact in answering all calls received at switchboard and to redirect all visitors who arrive at the reception desk all in a courteous and helpful manner. The ability to speak Welsh at Level 1 is essential for this post.
Main Duties of the Job
The Operational Services team at Velindre Cancer Centre is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Switchboard Assistant to join our team at the Velindre Cancer Centre. The ideal candidate will be customer focused at all times with an exceptional attitude in customer care and communications. You will enjoy working with a range of tasks and will need to possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. You will be computer literate, possess keyboard skills, be conscientious and be able to manage confidential issues.
The post will be based at Velindre Cancer Centre on a permanent 24 hour contract. The Switchboard Assistant post works between the hours of 7.30 am and 7.30 pm, 7 days a week on a rota basis and is expected to receive all external and internal calls and accurately transfer the calls as appropriate.
