Casual Cultural Talk Speaker From 20 per talk Casual Enterprise House and Hardman Centre Application Deadline: Thursday 21st November 2024 Shortlisting Date: Thursday 22nd November 2024 Interview Date: Wednesday 27th November 2024 Interview Type: Face to face Your Role The Ethnic Diversity Service provides cultural talks in schools to help promote the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils. We are looking for people from different cultural backgrounds and faiths to deliver talks and cultural activities in schools on a casual basis. Ideally candidates will have some experience working with children, be able to deliver engaging presentations and activities in a classroom or school assembly, be creative, and be passionate about sharing their culture and/or faith. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory clearance by the Disclosure and Barring Service and must be able to provide evidence of the Right to Work in the UK. About You We are looking for candidates who are confident in public speaking, who can plan, develop and deliver presentations and creative activities on their culture or religion in a school assembly or in a classroom setting. A team-player with excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, you will be a clear communicator who is approachable and responsive. You will need to be highly organised, proactive and able to work independently. About Us Stockport s Ethnic Diversity Service is a specialist service which provides a wide range of support for schools and children learning and using English as an Additional Language (EAL). We also promote equality and diversity and have strong ties to Stockport Interpreting Unit. Our team of experienced and specialist qualified teachers work in partnership with schools to strengthen EAL provision. We provide strategic advice alongside practical teaching and learning strategies. In addition to our specialist teachers, we have a large bank of casual Bilingual Assistants, giving schools access to a multitude of languages to support their children.
