Teaching Personnel have a great opportunity to work with an outstanding specialist day school. The school is looking to recruit a passionate Teaching Assistant to join their team.
This school provides high-quality education for boys and girls aged 5-19. With a record of continued outstanding Ofsted results, the school based in Ormskirk is regarded by many as the first choice for speech, language, and social communication in the UK.
Working under the direction of the teacher in the teaching and learning of children, which will include:
Responsibilities
* Undertaking activities with individuals, groups, or a class of children to facilitate their physical, emotional, and educational development within a safe environment, usually under the supervision of a teacher.
* Establishing a supportive relationship with the children and parents to facilitate effective communication and partnership between school and home where appropriate.
* Carrying out pre-determined educational activities and work programmes ensuring that specific guidelines are followed while promoting independent learning to support the children’s understanding.
* Encouraging acceptance and inclusion of the child with special needs to support achievement and development.
* Promoting and reinforcing the child’s self-esteem and encouraging the child to maximize their achievement and development.
Qualifications
* Relevant NVQ3 or equivalent.
* At least three years’ experience as a Teaching and Learning Assistant and/or as a classroom assistant.
* Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the practices and procedures within education relating to the welfare, safety, and education of children.
* Able to identify and work towards specific goals with children and colleagues.
* Able to maintain good relationships with children and adults.
* Able to motivate and encourage children to develop to their full potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
