Torus is seeking a Business Lead – Building Safety to take the reins in managing and delivering a robust safety framework across
our high-rise and higher-risk property portfolio. This pivotal role offers the chance to make a real difference, leading a team of
dedicated Building Safety Inspectors and working closely with our Building Safety Manager to ensure the highest safety and
compliance standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drive the successful delivery of the Building Safety Strategy and Residents’ Engagement Strategy.
* Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Building Safety Inspectors, ensuring all safety and compliance targets are exceeded.
* Ensure structural and fire safety policies are up to date, effective, and legally compliant.
* Oversee preventative maintenance, building safety cases, and the implementation of corrective actions arising from risk
assessments.
* Be a key figure in resident engagement, ensuring concerns are addressed and safety remains a top priority.
* Act as the go-to expert for fire safety legislation, guiding and educating colleagues on best practices.
* Deputise for the Building Safety Manager when needed, ensuring seamless leadership and operational efficiency.
What We’re Looking For:
* NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Risk Management or equivalent qualification/experience.
* HNC/D in a Building-related subject or relevant professional experience.
* A strong track record in building safety, fire compliance, and leadership.
* Deep knowledge of fire safety legislation, enforcement procedures, and regulatory requirements.
* Experience in a social housing or compliance-focused environment is highly desirable.
Interview Process:
* Candidates will undergo in-person interviews, consisting of a competency-based interview.
