Senior/Managing QS – Civils/Highway/Infrastructure

We are looking for a Senior/Managing QS to work for a leading engineering and construction company providing services to the building, civil engineering, highway & rail markets across the UK.
You will be managing multiple projects across the South East valued between £700k - £10m, overseeing various subcontractors covering earthworks, concrete, bridges, structures, and drainage.
The role involves working within a growing commercial and operational team to enhance the company's presence in the region while maintaining performance on live projects.
All projects will be delivered under an NEC3 contract. A good understanding of the contract and experience in delivering projects from award to handover, including raising early warnings, compensation events, and managing commercial disputes, is essential.
Projects typically include pinch point/junction upgrades, drainage upgrades, section 278 works, bridge repair and replacement schemes, embankment repairs, and one-off highway improvement schemes.
Duties will include:
1. Reviewing tender documentation to ensure terms are suitable, risks are identified, and mitigations are implemented.
2. Producing accurate and timely commercial project reports.
3. Procurement of subcontractors, negotiation, and financial accounting.
4. Ensuring commercial risks identified at the tender stage are managed post-contract and during delivery.
5. Supervising the performance of the commercial aspects of projects.
6. Preparing interim valuations and agreeing final accounts.
7. Leading negotiations for settlement of disputes related to customer and supplier accounts.
