Fiveways Playcentre is looking for a vibrant, dedicated Afterschool Club Team Leader to join our friendly, supportive team.
As an Afterschool Co-Team Leader, you'll be at the heart of our well established and much-loved Afterschool Club for children aged 2–11. You'll work alongside our brilliant team to plan, lead, and inspire a wide range of play-based activities, ensuring every child feels welcome, safe, and celebrated.
What You’ll Do:
Lead and organise our hugely popular Afterschool Club.
Create exciting, safe, and inclusive play experiences every day.
Support and inspire a team of passionate playworkers.
Ensure safeguarding, wellbeing, and individual needs are always at the heart of what we do.
Liaise closely with parents and carers to foster strong partnerships.
You’ll Bring:
Creativity and enthusiasm to plan engaging play opportunities.
Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
Experience working with children, particularly in early years and SEN.
A commitment to safety, hygiene, and the highest standards of care.
A solid understanding of safeguarding policies and EYFS framework.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
• To work as a member of the Playcentre team to ensure that all children attending the setting receive high quality care, are kept safe and receive stimulating play experiences which meet their individual needs.
• To lead, motivate and support the Afterschool staff team: to participate in recruitment, perform new staff induction, supervise daily activities, and understand the key skills and professional needs of all employees.
• To work within a culture of continuous improvement and to support the Playcentre team to ensure services are of a high standard.
• To be fully up to date with all relevant legislation, including the Early Years Foundation Stage and all relevant policies and procedures, and to ensure policies and procedures are followed.
• To be alert to safeguarding issues, ensuring that the welfare and safety of the children is promoted, and any concerns are reported to a Designated Safeguarding Officer, following the setting’s safeguarding policies and procedures.
• To understand Prevent and Safeguarding issues relating to afterschool children, and ensure staff understand their responsibilities.
