Behaviour Mentor Location: Slough/Hounslow Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary/Permanent About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive secondary school in the Slough/Hounslow area. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting students with behavioural challenges, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students, staff, and parents to implement personalised strategies that promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being. This role is perfect for individuals with a passion for supporting young people and making a difference in their educational journey. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and group support for students with behavioural needs. Develop and implement behaviour management strategies to support positive student outcomes. Build positive relationships with students, acting as a role model and mentor. Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and pastoral staff to support individual learning plans. Promote positive behaviour through restorative approaches and interventions. Monitor student progress, providing feedback and guidance to help them achieve their targets. Support students in developing social skills, self-regulation, and emotional resilience. Engage with parents and carers to ensure a holistic approach to student support.Candidate Profile: We are looking for a Behaviour Mentor who: Has experience working with young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH, or SEN needs. Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Is proactive, patient, and able to build strong relationships with students. Has a positive and resilient attitude towards supporting students in overcoming barriers to learning. Is confident in delivering small group or one-to-one interventions. Understands safeguarding and child protection principles (training provided if needed). Previous experience in education, youth work, or mentoring would be advantageous.Candidate Requirements: Experience in SEN support at a single institute or a varied background across multiple SEN schools providing LSA support.
