About this role We are looking for an experienced product manager to define and lead our strategy around marking and evaluation. We have exciting and ambitious plans to significantly enhance our assessment portfolio to capture the opportunity in the digital assessment market across the learner journey. This role will lead the product strategy across RM Assessor, our award winning e-marking tool, and the marking module within Assessment Master, our digital assessment tool, focussing on how we bring together our capability to improve the user experience, address different marking models across the user journey, and continue to enhance the value we provide. You will report to the Head of Product, working in a talented department of product managers, designers and innovators and alongside delivery teams based in our RM India office. Responsibilities You own the overall success for your product(s) and the product group. To do this you need to: Understand your customers’ and users’ needs Understand your domain and the competitor landscape Understand the business strategy and how your product contributes to company goals Define and refine your product strategy including vision, value proposition and roadmap Lead the cross functional product team to develop, launch and continually improve your product Advocate for your product internally and externally Engage with your internal and external stakeholders Manage the commercial success of the product – including profitability and growth As a senior team member you are also expected to: Demonstrate product management best practice to help your team and the wider product management community to develop and grow effectively Ensure strategic alignment within your team across the other groups in the portfolio to ensure a seamless experience for our customers using our products and services Reduce cross-team dependencies, remove blockers and co-ordinate with other product stakeholders Experience Product management expertise You have proven experience working within cross-functional teams to design, develop, launch and manage products/services to meet customer needs Ownership & accountability You are determined and self-motivated to own and drive forward your area of accountability Communication & influencing You listen to and interpret between the needs of customers and stakeholders, effectively manage expectations and facilitate difficult discussions where necessary. You are an empathetic team player who collaborates closely with others Strategic & commercial thinking You understand the needs of the business and ensure your product strategy is aligned to business strategy You make decisions with a commercial mindset and you are confident with basic financial modelling Domain experience You are passionate about education and may have some prior experience in the industry You are comfortable working with data and may have some prior experience of working on reporting or data products What’s in it for you?
