Description Senior Sustainability Manager - CSRD Lead Senior Manager role working within the Sustainability Team to ensure NEXT meets all its Reporting Obligations with a focus on CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) About the Team The Sustainability Team is a central NEXT Group function that covers all aspects of Environmental Sustainability. We work across NEXT own brand, Licensed, 3rd Party brands, Wholly-Owned Brands (Such as Lipsy, Love & Roses), as well as working closely to support our Total Platform Partners (Joules, FatFace, Reiss). This role is a Senior Role within the team and reports directly to the Head Of Sustainability. About the Role Lead and project manage the following activities to ensure CSRD compliance access the NEXT Group Lead and Manage external assurance of Double Materiality Process Lead gap analysis, map risks and opportunities against the reporting criteria and develop a detailed project plan to ensure implementation by the end of 2025. This will include reviewing the 12 elements of the reporting framework and the detailed metrics which we are required to report against, mapping the gaps and identifying the most effective approach to collate and report. Analysis of the data in order to improve quality, as well as reviewing existing relevant policies and targets to support progress against compliance Lead stakeholder engagement across NEXT Group, including across NEXT functions (Finance, HR, Code Of Practice, Sustainability) as well as with TP partners on their obligations and set them up for success to meet delivery dates Continued review of data and policy gaps. Develop improvement plans to close these. Lead development of central Corporate Sustainability Reporting Roadmap; engage internal stakeholders and oversee progress across the business. Oversee delivery of current ‘business as usual’ reporting such as SECR, Scopes 1,2 and 3 reporting and the assurance process Oversee delivery of existing external commitments such as EV100, RE100 and Indices such as CDP Lead on additional frameworks as required, such as TCFD; be the business expert on Sustainability Reporting framework About you Strong and extensive project management skills across multi stakeholder and complex projects Deep knowledge of existing Sustainability Corporate Reporting Frameworks which are the precursor to CSRD (Including but not limited to SECR, TCFD, ISSB, SASB) Ability to influence others, drive delivery and implement new activities at scale Driven, self-starter who can work autonomously and with little supervision Experience of delivering Sustainability reporting at scale across a large business Attention to detail and accuracy essential- ability to research, understand and relay information on legislation and advise actions as required to the relevant stakeholders. Highly IT literate – excellent written, numeracy and presentation skills. High level of engagement and knowledge in environmental and sustainability issues. Experience of managing a team
