Job Description
Here at The Howard Partnership Trust we are seeking to appoint an expert and dynamic leader as our Head of People.
We are a growing family of 13 schools in South East England, with a mix of Primary, Secondary and Special schools, and have a strong mission to create a place where every child and adult truly matters and therefore bring out the best in each and every one of our children and staff.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be a member of the Trust’s senior leadership team and have agency to work across the Trust to deliver an ambitious People Strategy, working closely with a range of stakeholders to achieve this.
Your strategic leadership will encompass leading all on areas of recruitment, retention, staff development, employee relations, HR policy and systems, and talent management, ensuring that Equality, Diversity and Inclusion is a golden thread through everything we do, and that our behaviours and actions match this.
You will be responsible for leading a respected HR team, comprising of 20 staff, who are based across several Trust schools, all committed to providing colleagues with a high-quality employee experience.
We are seeking an innovative and ambitious individual to join us in this key role in the Trust. You will demonstrate the ability to articulate your vision and values across the organisation, be confident and competent to drive the People Strategy and be able manage risk to the Trust appropriately, whilst empowering our education leaders to act where they can and develop strong and positive relationships with all stakeholders. You will lead the HR team to ensure they are high performing, managing day to day operational work to a high standard, whilst developing the team to be strategic and innovative in their approach to people issues in our schools.You are likely to be qualified at MCIPD Level 7 and have substantial experience of working in a challenging and complex, multi-site organisation as a senior HR professional. Experience of working in the education sector is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
