BACKGROUND TO THE POST
This initial post was created when South Weston Activity Network won the ITV People Project’s vote 2018, securing a substation grant towards youth activities with a view to establishing a Youth Forum. These posts are now funded by The National Lottery Reaching Communities programme until 2030. South Weston Activity Network (SWAN) is a long-established network of youth and children’s work providers in South Weston-super-Mare (Bournville, Coronation and Oldmixon). We are the Local Commissioning Network (LCN) for the area, and a registered charity. We have run an annual summer holiday lunch club for many years, and run a range of holiday trips, activities and events for children, young people and families. We are passionate about brilliant joined-up working between our partners, and fun activities for local families. We are committed to working in an asset-based approach to community development. The primary aim of these posts is to develop member participation across the network, nurturing a Young People’s Group that will shape, deliver and commission activities for young people and families.
