We are currently seeking an enthusiastic person to be part of our friendly team at Cropwell Bishop and Bingham surgeries. We have a supportive team at Belvoir Health Group including experienced pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, dispensers, and dispensing assistants.
Our dispensary is a very busy working environment, and you will be required to work efficiently within our team. The successful candidate will need to show initiative and excellent customer care. You will liaise with clinicians on a daily basis and deal with any queries they may have.
Main Duties of the Job
The successful applicant needs to possess a good standard of education and have a grade C or above in English and Mathematics. Customer care experience is also desired.

Job Title: DISPENSER/DISPENSING ASSISTANT
Reports To: TEAM LEADER
Job Summary: The post-holder will project a positive and friendly image to dispensary patients and other visitors and deal with queries in a professional, courteous, and efficient way.
Assist in the preparation, dispensing, and sale of prescriptions and assist with stock control, ordering, and re-stocking of the dispensary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Issuing prepared prescriptions
2. Collection of prescription charges/checking patient exemption statements
3. Operation of efficient stock control appropriate to the needs of the dispensary with the objective of ensuring continuity of supply for patients and minimizing wastage
4. Ensuring that drugs are received and stored in an appropriate manner in accordance with the manufacturers' instructions
5. Ensuring that refrigerated items are stored at the appropriate temperature and maintaining the temperature control record/logbook
6. Cleaning work surfaces and shelving on a regular basis and ensuring that all dispensary equipment is kept clean and in good working order.
7. Maintaining full and accurate records of all dispensing transactions.
8. Undertaking other reasonable duties within the framework of the post.
9. Ordering and unpacking drugs and dressings.
10. Dispensing and checking repeat prescriptions under the supervision of a dispenser.
11. Taking orders for repeats and dealing with queries from support staff.
12. Using the computer to keep records up to date.
13. Checking with GPs or in patient records if concerned about the appropriateness of requests for medication.
14. Dealing with queries from patients regarding their prescriptions.
15. Ordering drugs using the modem link to the wholesalers.
16. Handling controlled drugs (and keeping register).
17. Handling prescription money and operating/balancing the till.
18. Assisting when required to meet targets in relation to the dispensing doctors scheme.
19. Assisting in stock checks.
20. Providing cover for annual leave/sickness.
