Depot Maintenance Technician Location: Biggleswade Salary: £36,251 A great opportunity to join the UK’s largest privately owned facilities management company in facilities management. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Depot Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair a range of electrical and mechanical plant and equipment in Distribution Centres. Job Purpose To efficiently and cost-effectively maintain and repair electrical and mechanical equipment while ensuring compliance with company Health and Safety policies. Key Responsibilities Undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance within agreed KPI timescales. Respond promptly to service call requests, assess job requirements, and carry out necessary repairs. Prioritize maintenance and repair tasks to meet response times. Order spares in accordance with company procedures. Identify non-repairable faults and advise the Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager on suitable replacements. Report any repair and maintenance issues that could impact depot operations. Assist in managing and supervising third-party contractors, ensuring service inspection paperwork is filed correctly. Carry out surveys and complete reports as required. Perform minor alterations and installations with relevant testing and certification. Conduct general building repairs as designated by the Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager. Maintain and use tools and equipment correctly, ensuring they remain serviceable. Liaise with project teams on site alterations and modernizations. Maintain accurate timesheets and ensure compliance with KPIs. Work collaboratively with company and Co-op colleagues to maintain quality standards. Ensure all costs are approved following the correct process. Requirements Qualifications: City & Guilds/NVQ in Electrical or Mechanical Installation (or equivalent). City & Guilds 2391 (Testing & Inspection) (Desirable). BS7671:2018 – Wiring Regulations 18th Edition. CSCS/ECS Skill card – Electrician Grade. H&S Awareness for Operatives (or equivalent). Experience & Skills: Minimum 3 years’ experience in a large-scale distribution site. Ability to manage and prioritize a demanding workload. Knowledge of CAFM software and experience with Verisae (Desirable). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Full UK driver’s license. What’s In It For You? Competitive salary.
