You will travel extensively, this is a key role, managing some large Distributors and Retailers who happen to be spread across the whole of the UK. This Role will effectively cover Business Development and Account management of our clients Southern UK Region, starting from Birmingham in the West Midlands, across into Mid Wales and East Anglia with everything below, you will need to be used to travelling, to overnighting as part of your role on a regular basis as you manage the demands of a broad role that includes multiple facets that combine to build great relationships, informed clients (training their staff too will be a part of this role), opening new accounts (in conjunction with and not in competition with your Northern equivalent and the National Sales Manager into whom you will report and work closely with upon strategy and efficient management of your area and customer base). AREA SALES MANAGER (SOUTH) – FLOORING - CARPENTERS Purpose of the role Responsible for the sales and account management within an agreed geographical area, selling and developing the company’s sale of a specific product range. Scope of the role Responsible for sales and account management for a specific product range of Underlays for Flooring Applications. To support the National Sales Manager and Commercial Director with any local priorities. Main accountabilities and responsibilities Liaising and communicating with customers to both generate sales and key account management. Maintaining and developing an established customer base within an agreed geographical area. Achieve sales business targets and forecasts. Deliver price and quotations to customers in line with the company’s terms, conditions and profit margins. Develop new business accounts and expand current accounts. Develop new business. Ensure good effective communication with the manufacturing team, sales representatives and senior management. Provide a weekly sales activity report. Ensure on time payment of invoices and dealing with anything overdue. Undertake market analysis and seek out new business opportunities that will be needed to achieve continuity and business development. Undertake other tasks in line with the business needs. Experience and background requirements 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role (Manufacturing). Technical / Specialized knowledge Experience & Background 3 – 5 years proven experience in a similar role (essential). Graduate calibre or equivalent (desirable, NOT essential) General skills Flexible approach to meeting the business needs, calm in resolving difficult situations, ability to build rapport quickly with customers, good communicator at all levels, can do attitude, results driven, ethical. Able to build rapport with customers, develop good working relationships with customers, management and staff. Good PC Skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, SAP), able to work as part of a team and undertake other duties as needed. Communication skills Good verbal and written communication skills (essential).
